KM International GmbH, the Bangladesh branch of FLORETT TEXTIL GmbH & Co. KG,
successfully organized the Supplier Development Program 2026 on Bangladesh Labour Law (Amendment)
2026 at Hotel Highgarden, Uttara, Dhaka. The full-day program brought together approximately 55
participants from 18 RMG factories, including factory management, HR, compliance, and industrial
relations professionals.
The program was graced by Ms. Nicole Hartmann, CR Manager – Social Compliance, FLORETT TEXTIL
GmbH & Co. KG, as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Fabian, CR Manager – Environmental Affairs, FLORETT
TEXTIL GmbH & Co. KG, attended as the Special Guest. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Sultan
Mahmud Sohal, Country Manager CR from Florett BD Office, who emphasized that effective
implementation of the amended labour law is fundamental to responsible sourcing, sustainable supply
chains, and long-term business competitiveness.
The technical sessions were conducted by Mr. K.M. Saiful Islam, Assistant Attorney General, Government
of Bangladesh, who explained the legal framework, key amendments, employers’ obligations, and recent
legal interpretations. Mr. Badsha Mia, Associate Professor and Chairman, Department of Law, Noakhali
Science and Technology University (NSTU), delivered an in-depth session on the practical application of
the amended Labour Law, covering disciplinary procedures, domestic inquiry, misconduct management,
grievance handling, employment termination, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), labour court
procedures, compliance documentation, and emerging legal challenges faced by the RMG sector.
The event was further enriched by the participation of Mr. Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, Manager –
Corporate Responsibility, ALDI CR Support Asia Limited, who shared buyers’ expectations on responsible
sourcing, human rights due diligence, and continuous improvement in labour compliance.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Sultan Mahmud Sohal stated, “Compliance is no longer merely a legal
obligation—it is a strategic commitment to sustainable business and responsible supply chains.”
The program concluded with an interactive discussion and certificate ceremony, reaffirming FLORETT
TEXTIL commitment to strengthening supplier capacity, promoting legal compliance, and advancing
responsible sourcing across Bangladesh’s garment industry.
